Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) licenses in the City of Beaumont are authorized by Chief Sean Thuilliez of the Beaumont Police Department and issued to applicants with a primary address within the Beaumont City limits. In order to be eligible, applicants must meet minimum statutory requirements and demonstrate “Good Cause”.
According to a ruling made in California by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, “Because the Second Amendment does not protect in any degree the right to carry concealed firearms in public, any prohibition or restriction a state may choose to impose on concealed carry — including the requirement of ‘good cause,’ however defined — is necessary allowed by the Amendment.”
The Beaumont Police Department is required to uphold this ruling and will process eligible applications with respect to valid “Good Cause” statements.
