Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) licenses in the City of Hemet are authorized by Chief Rob Webb of the Hemet Police Department.
To be eligible, applicants must meet minimum statutory requirements, which include having a primary residence within the Hemet city limits and the ability to demonstrate “Good Cause”.

CA 9th Circuit Court Ruling

According to a ruling made in California by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, “Because the Second Amendment does not protect in any degree the right to carry concealed firearms in public, any prohibition or restriction a state may choose to impose on concealed carry — including the requirement of ‘good cause,’ however defined — is necessary allowed by the Amendment.”

Not all Hemet addresses are located within the jurisdiction of the Hemet Police Department. Hemet addresses outside these city limits are considered unincorporated, and fall within the jurisdiction of the County of Riverside and the Riverside County Sheriff.

In general, this is determined by the number of numerics in your street address. Addresses with 5 numbers are considered unincorporated and will need to apply with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and addresses with 3 or 4 numbers in their street address are qualified and can apply here with the Hemet Police Department.

an alternative option to applying with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
